As a rescue facility, most of the animals we take
in are very underweight. Below you will see just a few of these
animals and their progress while here. Click the horse's name to
go to their page and read their story.

Mariposa
Mariposa is also still working on filling out! |

Lady
Lady is one of our oldest residents and in order to maintain her weight,
she has to have her feed soaked into a soft mash that she can easily
chew. |
 |
Athena
Athena was seized from her owners by animal control due to neglect.
These days, we have issues keeping the weight OFF as she loves to
eat and stays a little on the plump side. |
 |
Faith
She was nearly bald from lice when we got her. Sadly, Faith was
put down in in the summer of 2010 due to her worsening hoof issues.
|
Aria
Aria is a young blind mare who was also very underweight and she could
barely walk due to navicular. Now, she is looking much better and
she can move much easier. |
 |
Charlie
Brown
One of our first rescues, this young guy ended up with a wonderful
adopted family. |
 |
Chief
Chief is an elderly blind gelding
who was very thin when we got him. Now, he and Aria are best buddies
and you'd never know they were blind. |
 |
Flyer
Flyer is an older Thoroughbred gelding
who has a very difficult time holding his weight. He is looking much
better but it's a daily battle to keep enough food in him to maintain
his weight. |
 |
Dancer
Dancer is an elderly Arabian mare who had no problem putting weight
back on when she was started on a diet appropriate for her age. |
